MJ Golzari is an Iranian filmmaker, photographer, and MFA candidate at Ohio University. His work explores the intersections of memory, physicality, and identity through a poetic and experimental lens. With a background in documentary, commercial video, and visual art, Golzari's films often blend abstraction with personal narrative, creating space for ambiguity, ritual, and quiet resistance.
His short films, including Placenta and Pin, have screened at international festivals and been recognized for their experimental structure and emotional clarity. His photographic work has been exhibited in galleries across the U.S. and Europe. Golzari is also a member of the Film-Makers’ Cooperative (New American Cinema Group), where his work is archived for non-exclusive distribution.
He is currently focused on expanding his visual language through new narrative and experimental projects that further examine themes of emotional containment and displacement.
