Experimental Short Film (2025)
In a peaceful home, where distant chaos lingers unseen, a woman clings to her quiet rituals. But as the winds rise, the fragile boundary between serenity and turmoil begins to dissolve.
DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
When all seems calm, truth slowly emerges, a quiet arrival, laced with sorrow, yet inevitable. In this film, I explore the tension between stillness and upheaval, the fragile balance between peace and the undercurrents of change. The characters, much like us, are bound by fate and left with no choice but to accept. We can call it the situation.
PIN is shaped around visual and emotional compression. It draws from the language of still photography, performance, and experimental cinema to explore how trauma and transformation can settle into our lives not with spectacle, but with silence. The aesthetic is minimal, yet intentional; spaces are restricted, gestures are small, but meaning accumulates over time.
This film is part of my ongoing practice as a filmmaker and visual artist interested in ambiguity, repetition, and bodies caught between states. I’m less drawn to narrative resolution and more invested in atmosphere and tension. PIN is about what remains unsaid, about the air before and after something happens, when we can feel the shift but not name it yet.
As an immigrant filmmaker and someone trained in both photography and cinema, my work navigates the threshold between image and emotion. PIN is a meditation on that threshold.
